Inter House English Debate Competition Seniors

An Inter House English Debate Competition for Classes 9 to 12, was organised on August 22,2026 at Guru Nanak Academy. Sixteen participants in all total took part and were divided into two categories.

The topic for Category I, comprising students from Classes 9 and 10 was, “Academic excellence costs mental peace.” Aditya Sharma of Class 9 – A was adjudged the best speaker, and from the same class took the second position.

The topic for Category II, comprising students from Classes 11 and 12 was, “Parent should be held responsible for the crimes committed by their children.” Shubkankar Kala of Class 12 was awarded the best speaker in this category, while Vaishnavi Bhandari of  Class 12 adjudged the first runner-up.

The panel of judged included Mrs. Namrata Kapoor, Senior Academic Coordinator at Colonel Brown Cambridge School, Dehradun and Mr Navjot Singh, Board Member at Guru NanakAcademy. The 8 commended the participants for their efforts and shared valuable insights with the audience. The comperes for the day were  English teachers, Ms. Papia Chowdhury and Mrs. Charanjeet Chawla. The winners were presented certificates by the esteemed judges alongside, Dr. DPS Gupta. the Principal, Guru Nanak Academy. The event was attended by the students of classes 9 to 12.
